Lumina meaning brilliant light

A lumina meaning to light, illuminate, shine

Founded in 2017 Lumina is a Australian collective of eight women who are award-winning photographic artists breaking ground in visual storytelling. 

Committed to revealing diverse stories and narratives within the Australian landscape and further afield, Lumina’s core aim is to build capacity through collaboration and community. 

Each artist brings to the collective a unique voice and vision. Founding members are: Donna Bailey, Chloe Bartram, Jessie Boylan, Aletheia Casey, Anna Maria Antoinette D'Addario, Lyndal Irons, Morganna Magee and Sarah Rhodes. 

Lumina is a collective made up of individuals who identify as, or have lived as a woman, or identifies as non-binary.

As artists living and practicing in Australia, Lumina Collective acknowledges the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the first inhabitants of country and the traditional custodians of the lands where they live, learn and work. Lumina Collective artists work across Australia in diverse regional areas and major cities.
